Add comprehensive documentation for connecting Turso databases to Claude Code using the built-in MCP management commands.
The new guide includes:
- Quick 3-step setup process
- Visual command breakdown with annotations
- Multiple usage examples (local, absolute paths, project-scoped)
- MCP server management commands
- Example natural language queries users can make
This makes it much easier for developers to integrate their Turso databases with Claude Code without manually configuring JSON files or understanding the underlying MCP protocol details.
- Add explicit 'turso' command example in shell block
- Separate shell command from interactive session output
- Add context explaining what the command does
- Improve copy-paste experience for new users
- Follow standard CLI documentation patterns
Fixes unclear initialization flow where users didn't know
what command to run after installation.
Small README cleanup:
1. Updated the contribution guide and license link to point to the local
CONTRIBUTING.md and LICENSE.md file instead of GitHub’s default page.
2. Linked each language in the bindings list to its respective
subdirectory for easier navigation.

The SQLite command line has facilities to ingest things like csv, and
other formats. But here we are, in 2025, and I asked Claude if Turso's
CLI should, in the same vein, have a native MCP server.
Claude told me: "You're absolutely right!" "That's a great insight!"
"That's a fantastic idea!" and then proceeded to help me with the
boilerplate for this beautiful server.
Rust has a crate, mcp_server, that implements an mcp_server trait.
However, that depends on Tokio, and I think that would bloat our binary
too much.
I have also considered implementing an MCP server that operates on a
directory and allows to list many SQLite files, but figured that would
be a good job for a more advanced and specialized server, not for the
one that comes by default with the CLI. Let's go for simple.
I am not changing any package names - I'd rather Pekka do that so he
can verifies it works, or things that look like references to external
entities mentioning limbo.
All the rest is changed.
